DOAB is involved in several initiatives for open access books:

• Open Book Futures (OBF) (May 2023 – May 2025) - Open Book Futures project (OBF) builds on the work of the COPIM project, where both OAPEN and DOAB participate. DOAB will be active in connecting with publishers as part of this project, especially in the Global South. The project is 36 months and ends April 2026. It is funded through Arcadia and Research England Development Fund.
• DOAB in Africa project is a small-scale DOAB internal initiative that aims to address African publishers’ equitable access to the OA distribution channels and provide equitable access to the discoverability services for all publishers that fulfil its requirements.
